About Christian Bailey Agencies

In 1996 Charles Christian-Bailey entered into a new business with the importation of colorbond and other steel products for indent clients on Norfolk Island from Australia.   It soon became apparent that there was a demand for timber & hardware products along with many other building supplies.

By 2004 the business had outgrown the modest facilities of his home backyard and a decision to establish permanent business premises was taken.   A major building project on a centrally located 2 acre block commenced in 2005 comprising the Christian Bailey Agencies (CBA) store.   The project then continued with a 5000 sq metre extension to the timber yard. Later works moved internally to create further capacity for retail display and specialist showrooms.   Today CBA entails substantial cash & carry retail sales added to a growing list of trade account clients and an ever increasing demand for general indent import agency services.

CBA product ranges have expanded over the years to include white goods & appliances, plumbing goods, kitchen & bathroom, home wares, plus a comprehensive range of tools & general building supplies.   The business has maintained growth in all areas and now employs a number of sales staff, building consultants and administration personnel.

Charles’ future plans encompass even greater product access for customers across all commercial construction and domestic building requirements on the island.    His business plan aspires to provide a high level of customer service delivery, a comprehensive range of quality products, and indent orders at competitive pricing.

A new subsidiary business the hospitality shop under the direction of Kim Christian-Bailey specifically aims to supply hotel & catering merchandise to the hospitality industry of Norfolk Island.   With greater than sixty accommodation properties and in excess of thirty restaurants and other food outlets there is substantial potential for growth in the supply of plant, equipment and consumables to this business sector.   It is also apparent that as a consequence of instigating “the hospitality shop” there will be an added spinoff in retail sales to the domestic market.
